Real Madrid defeated Chelsea 2-1 in the last match of Chelsea’s preseason tour to the US. Real Madrid made a great early save to keep them in the match, and one of their defenders provided a wonderful assist to put up the first goal. They quickly doubled their lead, which put Chelsea in a difficult situation. A perfectly timed header that cut the advantage in half and gave Chelsea some hope was their bright light. Real Madrid’s defense held firm in the second half despite attempts to level the game.

Chelsea’s valiant effort to lose the game in the end kept them from making up the early deficit and ended their American trip.
