Gautam Gambhir has officially been named the new Head Coach of the Indian Cricket Team, replacing Rahul Dravid on Tuesday. Dravid bid farewell to Rohit Sharma and the team after winning the T20 World Cup 2024, held in the USA and West Indies.
The former left-handed Indian opener had been considered for the head coach position for a long time. Known for his match-winning 97 runs in the 2011 World Cup final, Gambhir boasts impressive career statistics, having scored 5,238 runs in ODIs, 4,154 in Tests, and 938 in T20Is.

As per ESPN Cricinfo, Former Indian opener will serve team India as Head Coach till December 2027. Team India will have chance to feature in 4 different ICC Trophies 2025 Champions Trophy, 2025 WTC Final, 2026 T20 World Cup, and 2027 World Cup during Gautam Gambhir tenure.
