Ahead of the upcoming FIFAe Nations League 2026, Kenya’s e-sports duo of Alex Manadu and Brian Kamau have been qualified for the tournament that is scheduled to begin in May this year. Alex and Brian are a popular eFootball Mobile duo in Kenya and will represent their nation in the upcoming championship.

Alex and Brian secured an entry into the championship after defeating the duo of Jason Olayo and Josephy Bafkado by a scoreline of 5-3 in a thrilling final match at the University of Nairobi. The qualifier tournament held at the University of Nairobi saw participation of 21 teams from across the country who played in double elimination format.
The duo of Alex Manadu and Brian Kamau, popularly known as Whipsmen, will be joined in the team by two additional players selected via wildcard to complete a six-player national squad.
Reacting to the win, Manadu termed the win as a dream-come-true opportunity. He mentioned that he has been watching the FIFAe World Cup and always wished for a chance to represent the country in what he loves doing. He further added “Today I am happy to earn selection to the national team together with my teammate Kamau. Now it is time for all of us to work together towards our common goal, which is qualification for the FIFAe World Cup 2026.”

The FIFAe Nations League 2026 is the premier national team competition for Football eSports. A total of 120 teams are set to participate in the tournament which will be played across three formats, including, eFootball™ Console, eFootball™ Mobile, and Rocket League. The FIFAe Nations League serves as the foundation for qualification to the FIFAe Finals 2026, with nations competing for glory starting in May 2026. After the massive successes of Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia, this edition of the FIFe Nations League has all the eSports fans excited.

As reported by Liquipedia, the competition is played in stages, including online qualifiers and, eventually, a final event (typically 2v2 for console/mobile) where matches are played over two legs with aggregate scoring.
