Gareth Southgate‘s England beats Switzerland in penalty shootout at the Dusseldorf Arena on Sunday in the UEFA EURO quarterfinal. Southgate’s men couldn’t get a good start as the first half ended with a 0-0 score. Bukayo Saka created a chance for England in the 44th minute of the game, but his pass to Kobbie Mainoo couldn’t be converted into a goal.
Breel Embolo scored the opener for the Swiss side in the 75th minute. However, Saka leveled the game in the 80th minute by scoring a goal for English side. The game did not end in 90 minutes and went into extra time. England secured a huge win after scoring all five penalties. They will now face the winner of the match between the Netherlands and Turkey in the UEFA Euro semifinal.
